Egg Academy For homeschool families

Young people 10+ join Egg Academy to make games, videos, art, and friendships in a positive creative community -- live online sessions across New Zealand, facilitator-led and project-based.

Why homeschool parents look at Egg Academy

Egg Academy is live creative technology with facilitators, peer connection, and parent visibility -- digital electives beside your main homeschool programme.

  • You steer the week

You keep maths, English, and your core homeschool rhythm. We run live creative sessions -- facilitators handle project tasks, tools, and check-ins so you are not troubleshooting every app yourself.

  • Screen time that makes things

Teens drawn to screens channel that into finished portfolio work -- digital art, games, animation, and music -- in moderated live sessions, not passive scrolling.

  • Progress you can actually see

Daily showcases, shared creative outputs, and individual student reports at Week 2, Week 6, and Week 10 during Egg-Xplore. You see what was made, not just hours logged.

  • Built for flexible schedules

Miss a week? Your teen can catch up with video tutorials and project briefs, or join a 4-6pm Mon-Thu session. Sessions run from home, anywhere in NZ -- ages 10+.

  • Facilitator-led, not DIY video courses

Small groups with a live Egg Academy facilitator in the room -- structured making with human support, peer connection with other creators, and a moderated community space.

  • The Starter Course (Egg-Xplore)

Ten digital-creative subjects over ten weeks -- one portfolio piece per week. Facilitator-led small groups. $249 + GST for the full term. Same programme whether you join a school-hours or afternoon slot.

Register interest for school-hours timing

Upvote if a school-hours slot would work better than afternoons only. Tell us your AM/PM preferences -- the more families we hear from, the sooner we can open multiple timeslots that fit around core subjects at home.

Daytime homeschool slot

We're collecting interest for a school-hours homeschool slot (AM and PM options, Mon-Fri). The more families raise their hands, the sooner we can open multiple timeslots to suit different schedules.

Homeschool questions

Want the longer guide (unschooling fit, rural families, registration)? See homeschool creative curriculum. Or email welcome@eggacademy.co.nz.

Is this a replacement for my homeschool programme?
No. Egg Academy covers live creative and digital skills -- animation, games, art, music, and more. You keep leading maths, English, and your core homeschool plan. See the homeschool programme guide for more detail.
When will the school-hours slot open?
We open school-hours slots when enough families raise their hands and tell us their timing preferences. Upvote below -- the more interest we see, the sooner we can run multiple AM and PM timeslots (Mon-Fri).
What if we miss a week?
Educational content is available via video so your teen can finish the week in their own time. You can also join a 4-6pm Monday to Thursday catch-up slot -- creative sessions run then too.
Will you email me if I register interest?
If you add your email after upvoting, we send one reminder email only when a homeschool time slot opens -- not a marketing list. Info session reminders are sent by text message about an hour before the session you choose.
How does this relate to the Starter Course?
Same Egg-Xplore programme (Starter Course) -- 10 digital-creative subjects over 10 weeks, facilitator-led in small groups. This page is about opening a school-hours intake instead of afternoons only.
Is Egg Academy only online?
Sessions run from home via egg.ac. We also run optional local member meetups and special events -- never required for the homeschool slot.
