What computer and internet setup does Egg Academy need for live weekday sessions from home?
Egg Academy runs in the browser on a basic computer or laptop from home. This page lists the full device specs we recommend, plus microphone, mouse, and internet needs for live sessions.
Everyday setup
- Basic computer or laptop -- Chromebooks OK for starter and most intermediate work
- Microphone and mouse
- Reliable internet connection
- Headphones (recommended)
Computer requirements
- ChromeOS, Windows 10 or 11, or macOS
- 2.0 GHz processor
- 4GB RAM
- Graphics with at least 1GB dedicated or shared video RAM
Heavier 3D, video, or animation projects may run more smoothly on a newer device or one with a dedicated graphics card -- facilitators can suggest lighter tools when needed.
We check technology during the student check-in, so you do not need to worry if you are not sure. Parents should ensure their teen has what they need before live sessions.
