Our overnight Egg Academy camp at Spencer Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park. A warm Monsters & Mystery weekend — game jam activities, digital creative zones, D&D-style adventures outdoors, drama, beach time, cooking, and classic camp vibes mixed together.

- Signed-up Egg members who have completed the Starter Course. Limited spaces available.

- Spencer Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park, 100 Heyders Road, Spencerville (~20 minutes from Christchurch central). Meet at the Youth Hub first (see below).
The weekend
There is a main base at camp with different zones and activities across the weekend — game jam sessions, digital creative spaces, D&D-style adventures out in the park, drama and performance bits, and plenty of time to just be at camp together.
Creators will be camping in tents. We are there to help with setup, and we have an amazing crew of volunteers and creators coming in from all over NZ.

Additional volunteers go through our usual police vetting. The team keeps camp safe while giving creators space to connect.

Required
Bring your own device
EggCamp is BYOD — bring a charged phone and a laptop. Devices are not supplied on site. Game jam sessions, creative zones, and mystery activities all run on the gear you already use.

There will be places to charge on site — bring your chargers for phone and laptop. A power bank is handy for between sessions. Devices can be stored in a locked cabin while we are out on adventures.
Before you come
Youth Hub meet & pick up
Everyone meets at the Youth Hub, 109 Salisbury Street, Christchurch. We travel to and from Spencer Park by car / Uber. Pick up is from the Youth Hub as well.
Tenting
Young creators tent up -- bring your own tent (may be shared if arranged beforehand). Tent groupings are coordinated ahead of time so everyone feels comfortable.
Facilitators and support crew stay in cabins. All creator tents stay in the same camp area.
Food
We provide food throughout camp. Share any dietary requirements or allergies when you sign up so we can plan accordingly.
Power & storage
There will be places to charge on site — bring your phone and laptop chargers. See bring your own device above.
Devices can be stored in a locked cabin while we are out on adventures.
What to bring

Essentials
- Phone (charged) + charger
- Laptop (charged) + charger
- Power bank (handy between sessions)
- Tent (may be shared if arranged beforehand)
- Sleeping bag, mat or air mattress, pillow
- Torch or headlamp
- Refillable water bottle
- Day pack or small backpack
- Closed-toe shoes (suitable for outdoors at Spencer Park)
- Beachwear, towel (beach + showers)
- Light warm layer, rain jacket or windbreaker
- Change of clothes, underwear, socks, sleepwear
- Plastic or dry bag for wet / dirty clothes
- Toiletries and any personal medication
- Reusable plate, mug or cup, and cutlery
Creative, fun & extras
- Toys, games, or portable instruments (cards, balls, frisbee, ukulele, guitar)
- Notebook or sketchbook and art supplies
- Costume wear, themed outfits, or props
- Sunglasses, sun hat or cap
- Sunscreen and insect repellent (we will have some to share)
Please do not bring
- Alcohol or vaping devices
- Energy drinks
- Weapons or unsafe items
- Anything you would be upset to lose

Our camp home base is at Spencer Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park -- about 20 minutes north-east of the city centre, inside the Spencer Park coastal reserve. Forest, beach, open spaces, and a great setting for game jams, creative zones, and outdoor adventures.
