COURSE DESCRIPTION
*Only available to those who have completed the Egg-Xplore course.
Dive into the exciting world of 2D animation! Kids & teens can bring their creative ideas to life through this online, interactive animation course. This course focuses on foundational techniques that make animations smooth, lively and expressive.
This course is divided into two phases:
First 5 Weeks: Building foundations
Explore animation principles such as timing, storyboarding and motion dynamics. Engage in hands-on exercises designed to refine creative skills and boost confidence in using animation tools and techniques.
Second 5 Weeks: Creating an Animated Short
Apply the skills learned in weeks 1-5 by creating an animated short. From planning and designing to final animation, this phase allows students to bring their own creative vision to life while showcasing their growth as an animator.
By the end of this course, participants will have gained confidence in animation principles and completed a creative project to showcase their skills!
Minimum Specifications for this Course:
– Basic Computer/Laptop
– Mouse (If preferred, drawing tablet)
Software Used:
Wick Editor: A user-friendly animation platform for 2D creations.
COURSE HIGHLIGHTS
Weeks 1-5: Learn the Principles of Animation
Learn and practice the methods that Western Animators use to create lively and engaging animations. Build upon the importance of timing, add weight and exaggerate an action to give energy to an animated character.
Weeks 6-10: Staging & Storytelling
Plan and create a short animated movie! Students will use thumbnails and staging to plan out and emphasise the actions or moods of the scenes.
